Mastery Training Workshop - Postponed - future date TBD

This is a special event for a limited group of 15 - 20 people. This seminar is designed for those who have already gotten the most out of our "system" and are primed to take their business/coaching skills to the next level. We'll be using a lot of what you have been doing as our "jumping off" point. We will continue to build on what you already know and work on it to make sure there hasn't been too far of a deviation. We'll spend a good portion of the seminar working in groups, so be prepared to work in small teams to get things accomplished. Additionally, we've come up with many innovations since most of you first worked with us. So, we'll review and share these with the group.

Becoming a master at your business of coaching. This invitation only seminar will be covering business/leadership with John Burch and Andy Petranek and programming/coaching with Andy and Dutch Lowy

Mastery Workshop:
When: July 14th & 15th (Tuesday/Wednesday right after the CF Games)
Where: New CFLA HQ location: 3201 Santa Monica Boulevard, Santa Monica, CA 90404
Time: 8:30 am - 5:30 pm, both days

All training is MIND-BODY training – learn how to improve your performance by learning how your body communicates with your brain.

Matt Fitzgerald, writer and athlete, will lead this hands-on seminar teaching the connection between brain and body, the central governor theory, and the science behind exactly what we practice with CrossFit.

Matt Fitzgerald is the author of nine books on fitness, nutrition and weight-loss and writes for many national publications, such as Men’s Health, Outside, and Triathlete. He is the editor of PoweringMuscles.com, an online nutrition information resource for athletes and exercisers. Outside of writing, Matt is a featured coach with Training Peaks, an online training service for endurance athletes. An All-State runner in high school, Matt is now a top age-group runner and triathlete and in 2002 was named a USA Triathlon All-American.

This is a HANDS-ON seminar – be prepared to move around!

Prelims: Saturday, June 20 – All Classes
Finals: Saturday, August 29


Entry Fee: $30 ($20 goes into the “kitty” for prize money)
Winners: Prizes for both biggest improvement and fastest time!

Advanced - 45# Thrusters, Unassisted pull-ups
Intermediate - 32# Thrusters, 2x Jumping pull-ups
Beginner - 22# Thrusters, Jumping pull-ups

Women
Advanced - 45# Thrusters, Unassisted pull-ups
Intermediate - 32# Thrusters, 2x Jumping pull-ups
Beginner - 22# Thrusters, Jumping pull-ups


How the Challenge Works
1. GET REGISTERED – get your name on the list and pay the $30 entry (remember, $20 goes back in the “kitty” for prize money).
2. PRELIMS - Sat. June 20th set your baseline. Set your baseline “Jackie” time. This will be the time off of which we will calculate your improvement.
3. TRAIN – CrossFit for 10 weeks with the intention of improving your “Jackie” time.
4. FINALS – Sat. August 29th. Go for YOUR best “Jackie” time!

** PRIZES will be awarded for:

• Most improvement - 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th place in combined women’s and men’s divisions.
• Fastest Time - 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in Advanced Men’s & Women’s divisions.

Rules:
- You must choose the category you are going to compete in and STAY in that category for the finals. Rankings for TIME:
o There will be one master list ranking participants based on time
o Your TIME rank will be based on your performance within your category.
o Categories will be listed in the order Advanced, Intermediate, Beginner. This means that all Advanced category finishers will be ranked above all the Intermediate category finishers, who will be ranked above all Beginner category finishers.
o For example, if you compete in the Intermediate category, the best ranking you can have is one below the lowest in the Advanced category. So if there are 6 people in the Advanced category, your ranking, if you have the highest time in the Intermediate category, is #7.
- Rankings for IMPROVEMENT:
o There will be one master list ranking participants on percentage improvement.
o This list is NOT categorized. Your category has no bearing on where you finish on this list.
o For example, if you compete in the Intermediate category, and you have the highest percentage of overall improvement, you would be ranked #1.
