In Their Own Words...
In elementary school, I was the last picked for kickball. In junior high track and field, I came in last in the long jump, high jump, shot put, sprints, hurdles, and long distance runs. So you can imagine my surprise when I started working out at Petranek Fitness and subsequently won the Petranek Fitness Challenge. I’ve had other trainers, and I've gotten stronger, but it wasn’t until I started training with Andy that I began to build skills, coordination, and balance. My body is slowly but surely beginning to cooperate with my mind.

Do you let someone tell you that you can’t have your dream?

From time-to-time people we know... people really close to us, like our best friend or our spouse or even parents will tell you that you CAN'T do the thing you've set as your goal. I've personally had this happen to me several times and know how hard it is to NOT listen to those people. I've gone as far as not talking to specific people in my life because I knew what they thought was helpful, warning me about the difficulties of said endeavor, would actually erode my confidence. It's not easy, believe me, to tell your mother "Mom, I can't talk to you about this because you won't understand..." but it IS necessary to preserve the sanctity of positive energy around you when you're getting something off the ground.

Does this happen to you?

Tell us, how do you deal with it?
