-Leftovers rock. The dates, veggie torte, and relish were all homemade leftovers from recent meals I’ve prepared.
-I did good until the end of the day and then I was just too tired to cook. I knew I didn’t have anything fast to make in my house. Will remedy that for the future—usually I keep some soup or Trader Joe’s Indian Fare for these sort of nights.
-the pomegranate & dried fig relish I made is GOOOOD and pretty easy to make. I still have more of all the ingredients so I may make up another batch.
Didn’t log over the weekend (ate lots of bad stuff due to parties, practicing cooking, etc.), but am back at it starting today!

Arugula tossed with olive oil & vinegar
11:30pm
Couple bites of gruyere (leftover from weekend)
NOTES:
-Not a stellar day, but whatever! I normally don’t have cheese in my house and I need to get it out so I stop eating it. I had it for recipes for my cheat day Sunday and now I keep snacking on it. Argh.
-Need to get back to eating my food as meals, not as constant snacking, or I never feel full.
1:15pm
Pumpkin with stevia, cinnamon & nutmeg
Lots & lots of roasted nuts
4:30pm
More roasted nuts
7:15pm
Protein bar
8:00pm
3 chicken sausages
Orange bell pepper
8:30pm
Trail mix
NOTES:
-Way too many nuts/trail mix today! My appetite is clearly back, now I need to get back to better food choices. Won’t have time to hit the grocery store before the weekend, but I also need to steer clear of too many nuts!
3:45pm
Some lettuce, tomatoes and olive oil (not entire salad)
6:00pm
Protein bar
Small bag of trail mix
8:15pm
Buffalo burger
Eggplant “indian fare” from Trader Joe’s
NOTES:
-Okay, I actually got hungry for meat today for the first time in a week, so I think my tummy is officially all better! Now just have to get to eating, exercising and getting the strength and energy back up to snuff! Also, I didn’t have energy/appetite this past weekend to actually grocery shop, so may have to do a little scrounging for tomorrow’s food before I can hit the grocery store tomorrow night!
-Will start back up on my fish oil and ZMA before bed time tonight, too.
11:30am
some pumpkin, with cinnamon, stevia & nutmeg
2:30pm
2 jello sugar free pudding cups (the last of them!)
3:30pm
1 hard boiled egg, 24 almonds
5:45pm
1 bite sample pizza at Trader Joe’s
7:00pm
flatbread pizza thingie from Trader Joe’s
NOTES:
-Still no appetite today, so focused on eating a little and drinking lots of water
-Went to Trader Joe’s after work to see if anything looked appetizing. Randomly, apples and this weird flat bread pizza stuff both seemed good. Bought some apples for tomorrow and ate the pizza thing for dinner. *shrug*
10:00am - went out for breakfast!
3 scrambled eggs
Big English muffin with butter & jelly
3:00pm
2 sugar free jello pudding cups
5:30pm
can of organic split pea soup
9:15pm
1/2 packet of almonds
excedrin
9:45pm
1/2 packet of almonds
sugar free jello pudding cup
NOTES:
-Made it out to eat at a real restaurant. Went to La Grande Orange and had yummy eggs and one of their big English muffins. Yum! Haven’t found the idea of any meat or veggies appetizing yet, so I gave my bacon to Michael—I must still be sick if I’m giving away bacon!!!
-Question: Do they made regular jello pudding cups anymore?? All I could find when I went shopping yesterday was Sugar Free or Fat Free. Is there no normal pudding?
-Got a migraine tonight. Not surprised with how jacked up my system has been. Glad it didn’t happen sooner, actually.
-Today was an exploration in soft harmless foods. Aside from my stomach & guts making ridiculous grumbling noises all went well. Didn’t want to eat too much and have it come back to haunt me—plus after not having eaten much in days, it doesn’t take much for me to feel uncomfortably full.
NOTES:
-Drank some emergence vitamin C packets in the morning and evening
———————
12/4
Sleep - ???, very little
10:30am
1/2 small vanilla McDonald’s shake
NOTES:
-Sick as a dog all night all over again. I think I tried to do too much and eat too much normal food yesterday. I felt really feverish by the time I was teaching evening classes. In bed all day today resting and trying to get a little water down.
-Had food poisoning or some such from the Counter last night. Started right before midnight and I don’t think I slept at all until around 11am for an hour. Horrible nauseau and muscle cramps. Yuck yuck yuck.
-I should probably subtract the last meal or two from yesterday’s log, as they didn’t stay down!
5:30pm
Salad: 3oz sliced turkey, grape tomatoes, bag of baby greens, 1 tbsp olive oil
8:15pm
Dinner at The Counter:
1/3lb burger on a bed of mixed greens
topped with - pineapple, grilled onions, bacon & sweet bbq sauce
NOTES:
-I didn’t write in my notes when I ate my third packet of almonds, so I’m not sure if I ate it or not. Will have to check my fridge at work tomorrow to see if it’s still sitting there.
-Met an old friend from grade school for dinner at the Counter tonight, so I just stuck to eating non-dairy non-bread stuff. If you get their burgers on a bed of greens you can make a yummy salad!
-Before bed tonight I will take my fish oil and ZMA supplements.
10:15am
2 chicken sausages
1 packet almonds from Trader Joe’s
11:45am
1.5 cups pumpkin (would have eaten it all earlier, but ran out of time)
2:20pm
Homemade coleslaw (more about this below)
1 packet almonds from Trader Joe’s
3:00pm
3 hard boiled eggs
4:15pm
Salad: 3-4oz sliced turkey, grape tomatoes, bag of baby greens, 1 tbsp olive oil
5:15pm
1 packet almonds from Trader Joe’s
7:15pm
2 small chicken breasts, cooked in olive oil
Raspberry chipotle sauce drizzled on chicken breasts
1lb of brussel sprouts, braised & glazed in chicken stock and butter
(photo of dinner attached below)
NOTES:
-The coleslaw I made myself. Cabbage, scallions, celery, carrots (just a little bit) and pecans in a mustard dressing (mustard, oil, vinegar). I made enough to last the week. My plan is to make different salads like this each week to keep it interesting while still being easy.
-The raspberry chipotle sauce was store bought and a little sugary. I would only have it now and again as a treat, but I couldn’t resist trying it out.
-Before bed tonight I will take my fish oil and ZMA supplements.
