Did the Helen prelims on Saturday, beginner level.  I cannot believe just how hard running is right now.  It used to be my strong suit and now its almost my nemesis.  I know the more I run the better it’ll be, and I still love to run (deep, deep down), but yowza, its totally kicking my arse right now.  But I was proud of myself for doing the workout 9 weeks after having Neave.  She is my inspiration.

I don’t remember what my time was (my ‘new mommy brain’ doesn’t hold onto much these days) but I’m pretty certain I have nowhere to go but up.  Thanks to all who were there at the 830 class to cheer me on.  It is amazing what a little cheering will do to your energy levels, isn’t it?

Forgot to add my Thursday workout.  After being exceptionally sore after Tuesdays workout I did:

2x
800m run
50 situps
50 archrocks (although because of the c-section I just did back extension type things on the floor)

1x
400m run
25 situps
25 archrock alternative

27:??

I did the first two rounds and realized there was no way I was going to make it through a third, so I cut the last one in half.  I noticed on Wednesday that my incision started to hurt a bit so I realized I needed to dial back a bit.  Sit-ups are still quite a joke with this mama…..

Well, workout number four at the gym today.  Its amazing just how much my body has changed and how much work this is going to take.  But at least now I have a precious little face to focus on as I’m sweating!!  I can’t think of a better motivator.

I have no idea what my times were but this is the workout I did today during the new 8:30am class (which I’m so happy they’ve added as 7am is now WAY too early with 3am feedings).

Karen w/ 10# ball - my legs and arms are sore already

100 sit ups & 150 bird pickers - the workout called for 150 of each, but after not having done a sit up in about 6 months, having my abdominal muscles stretched to the hilt AND then having your middle sliced open to remove said precious baby, I opted to do just 100 sit ups.

I’m going to hurt tomorrow….
