I think the current Zone rx I’m following has really been dialed into me.  I’ve been listening a lot to CrossFit Radio, trying to catch up on all of the past episodes and I’ve noticed that every one of the big bosses of CrossFit that are interviewed said that it’s really important to listen to their bodies.  I’ve tried to incorporate that along with Robb Wolf’s suggestions and classic “weigh and measure” Zone and I’m pleased so far with what I’ve been seeing.  Perhaps a little more tweaking is necessary in a couple weeks, but for now I’m pleased with how this is going.

Weird day for food.  Schedule got a bit messed up because I planned to have that Chipotle dinner with a buddy of mine, lots of things ended up turning into small snacks.  It left me feeling a bit hungrier than I usual do before dinner but I dealt with it by drinking water and telling myself that the Chipotle burrito I was gonna have was going to be awesome (it was).

On my rest days, I usually aim for 15p/10c/30f but I felt alright at the end of the night and didn’t feel the need to eat that extra couple handfuls of almonds.  I’ve been Zoning for about two months now and over those months, I’ve changed my prescription 3 or 4 times.  This week has been pretty good so far as far as how I’m feeling and what my performance has been like.  I’ve been napping in the afternoons, which is weird for me but I’m not sure if that’s because of my diet or because I usually end up not doing anything and having lazy warm afternoons.  Over the next week or so, I’ll see how my energy levels balance out.

So that freaking lunch was supposed to be a post workout insulin surge, but it took me about 45 minutes to make and eat the damn thing.  Two huge bowls of salad and a plate of extra goodies…it fucking sucked and I’m going to avoid doing that ever again.  My new plan is to bring milk and extra carbs with me to the gym so I can get a real post workout meal, the way it’s meant to be done.  We’ll see how that works on Wednesday.

The more I think about it, the more I feel my Zone prescription can be modified to be more accurate.  For example, I’m currently using a list to decide what my foods will be but I would like to eventually tailor my diet using the actual nutrition facts of the respective foods.  That’ll take a lot of work and effort so it’ll be happening waaaaay down the line.

So this is the nutrition log.  We’ll see how this goes as I am still in the middle of experimenting with my diet a little bit.  Thanks to Zeb, who gave me some great information and access to even more information, I’m hoping to get this whole Zone thing balanced out properly over the next month or so.  Here goes nothing.
