Froze my Crossfit membership for a couple weeks while I deal with PT on the knee. Went to my 24-hour fitness gym on 31st and Ocean. It’s got a pool. Swimming is one of things I’m going to do to keep in shape while doing the PT. I haven’t swum in awhile and was never a big swimmer to begin with. So I thought what I did was kind of remarkable.
I got in the pool and swam for 40 minutes no-stop. Went 2000 yards. So a mile and a quarter. I was going super fast, but I wasn’t super slow either. It felt much better than I expected. The earplugs worked. The goggles worked. My body worked. It actually felt good. I wasn’t winded or even particularly tired after. In fact, after I got out of the pool I went and did my modified NANCY.
20 minutes as many rounds of:
5 pull ups
10 push ups
15 lateral bridges (alternating sides each round).
I did 14 rounds.
My pull ups were greatly improved. I need to weigh myself again. I’m feeling much lighter! The first time I did a Nancy I couldn’t do 5 pull ups in a row even once. This time I did 5 in a row each of the first 5 rounds.
Then after all that, I still had some gas in the tank so I did 100 sit ups.
Now I’m going to sit in front of the TV and do my 1:45 of PT.
So yeah, pretty much like 4 hours of a exercising today… Sure, that’s maintainable.
