I was swimming yesterday, and was especially aware of a freedom that I enjoy in 99.9% of the rest of my life that is taken away the minute I jump into the pool and go for a swim - breathing. It's something that I take for granted just about every minute of every day, except when I'm in the pool. I have no idea if learning how to control my breath while swimming will help me with workouts on dry land (any swimmers out there know the answer to this?) But I know this... It's really uncomfortable. And it requires practice - lots of practice. I know that I'm still not so good at it because at the end of every swim workout, I let out at least 3 or 4 large belches, indicating just how much water I've swallowed in the process.
Putting myself in uncomfortable situations... this seems to be a pattern... it also seems to be the way I grow and develop. Anyone else have that "problem?"
