I was asked by a business consultant recently to put together some "really big pictures of you laughing and smiling." I didn't have anything in mind, so I just started to look through my photo albums. It was really fun to look through my photos with that thought in mind - me having fun. As I went deeper and deeper through the pictures I was overwhelmed with feeling that I am just really damn lucky.
In spite of the fact that I don't see all my friends as much as I would like to, I am surrounded by love. In spite of the fact that I haven't traveled as much as I want, I have traveled a lot. In spite of everything that I don't have that I think I need, I am completely taken care of and have plenty to share.
It was really hard not to cry (and I really had to try because I was in a coffee shop), and I had to put my sunglasses on so I wouldn't freak anyone out. I am just so damned grateful for everything. For my girlfriend, Pili, for my family and their health. For CFLA and all of its people, for Andy, for Diz, Niki, Lauren, Jonesy, Shirley, and the whole team and everything that my life is because I found that bright shining place in the universe. For friends, for my time here on earth, for the opportunities I've had, for the people I've met that have changed me. For getting to do what I love. I could go on and on.
All because someone said "look at your life for where you are having fun." I realized that I don't stop and do that often enough. I'm often looking at what's missing, what I don't have, where I'm not having enough fun. Isn't it funny how nothing at all has to change for your life to become amazing after all?
