"Mina," today's Mental Toughness workout, is named after Danette's daughter. Something incredibly powerful can happen when you do a workout named after your child. Immediately context is deepened becoming even more potent. Watching Andy finish "Dashel," was one of the most touching crossfit moments I've witnessed. On days when, "Kamrynn," (my daughter) comes up feelings of gratitude and commitment bring me to tears.
If you look at the composition of, "Mina," the workout gets progressively more difficult - a challenge to one's mental toughness. Which invites a few questions:
1) What helpful tools do you have that help you respond to a difficult workout? Breath? Interdictions? Mantras? "Other Orientation"?
2) Can you predetermine your character before a workout begins?
3) Does it help to be mindful of someone you love or care about during a workout?
What are your thoughts? I know AP, Diz and myself would love to hear?
